Julie Mawson entered the footwear industry in West Yorkshire at eighteen, as a trainee designer and technician. Her career steadily progressed until she was appointed design director with a leading footwear company.
In 2006 Julie and her partner Chris decided to relocate to Wembury on the South Devon coast and set up Occasion Shoe Limited, so that they could realise Julie’s long-awaited dream of designing her own label collection. The debut Julie Mawson collection will be launched at the British Bridal Exhibition in Harrogate in September 2009.
“The inspiration for my debut collection was the romantic yet vibrant atmosphere of Italy and each shoe is named after a different Italian city or region. The concept has allowed me to create a unique range of beautifully crafted shoes using only the finest materials.
